Hello! I’m Maree

This is my story

My name is Maree Lewis and I am a Recovery Coach from Hervey Bay, Queensland. I have moved to Blackwater, Qld. It is a beautiful rural town. 

I was adopted at 4 weeks old. I am 48 year old, single mother to a 30 year old son. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren. 

I struggled with school and I could not read or write. As an adult I committed myself to learning these skills on my own. Since then I have dedicated myself to building my knowledge in many areas, including counselling, photography, wedding planning, security and law. I love studying and passing on my skills to others.

I’m a Holistic Counsellor and now an Accredited Practitioner with the International Meditation Teachers & Therapist Association

I have lived experience of mental health issues, abuse, trauma, self-harm and substance abuse. Despite all my struggles, I have learnt to pick myself up again and work towards my own recovery.

I’m a down-to-earth person who has always dreamed of saving the world. I know I can help people and give back to my community. I’m doing this by providing Recovery Coaching to NDIS clients. I’m using my learnt knowledge and lived experience to help people work towards their own recovery, whatever that looks like for them.

I know mental health does not always happen between the hours of 9am and 5pm, and this is reflected in the flexible way that I work. I am passionate about a holistic approach and thinking outside the box.
